This article examines the implementation of the Andean Rural Education Program in the department of Arica, focusing on the execution of the plan in the Andean areas of the region. Based on the analysis of the document "Andean Program, Arica-Chile Project (1962-1965)" it explores how this project, promoted by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), was carried out in the Andean communities of the department, integrating educational objectives with economic development. The study argues that the program, through rural education, promoted significant transformations in these communities. Among the main reforms, we highlight the improvement of school infrastructure, the introduction of modernized agricultural practices, the implementation of school and community workshops, the training of public officials, adult education, and the dissemination of values and objectives that were aligned with both local and national development.
