Research on Chilean Higher Education elaborated during the civil-military dictatorship (1973-1990)

The paper presents an analysis of the research on Chilean Higher Education conducted during the civil-military dictatorship. The main research were carried out by The Latin American Social Sciences Institute (FLACSO-CHILE), the University Promotion Corporation (CPU) and the Interdisciplinary Program of Research in Education (PIIE). This work examines these investigations from the period in which the studies made, the approach they promoted (culturalist, historical or empirical sociological) and their interpretation of the general trajectory or specific field of Chilean Higher Education. Finally, I present the main analytical theses considered for the transformation trajectory of Chilean Higher Education.
